According to a recent article on CNN, Obama asked for more than $83 million. The money would be spent in a matter of six months for the war in Iraq. If we were only paying soldiers, all 142,000 currently serving in Iraq, not including gas, electricity, ammunition, and a few other items, each soldier would be earning $97,417. If that were an annual salary, it works out to be $194,835. Simply out of curiosity, I wanted to know how long it would take to spend that much money if one person were to spend at a rate of $1 million per day. It would take 227.4 years to eliminate that purse. This is what Obama wants to spend in 6 months, now until September as the article points out. The article is linked below.

According to the Washington Post, "Democrats overwhelmingly embraced," Obama's $3.5 trillion budget. I wanted to run the same calculations for this amount. If one person were to spend $1 million per day, it would take that person 9,589 years to spend that purse. If one person, beginning the day they were born, provided they were not murdered, aborted first, and lived 80 years, that person would have to spend $120 million per day to die penniless.
Given the 2009 estimated population of the united states is 307,212,123, each person would owe the u.s. government an additional $11,392.78 for this budget alone.
